“Once upon a time, the Chief God in heaven was sick and at risk of dying. All manner of magic was tried, along with all kinds of fruit juices. Banana juice, orange juice and papaya juice failed to cure his sickness. One day and other god dreamed that fruit from just one tree would save the Chief God. “That fruit grew in the Himmaparn Forest [a forest in Thai mythology]. That fruit was the cashew. Finally, after a long illness, the chief god sprang back to life. After that, cashew apple juice became a popular beverage of the gods.”
